Rachael Boyce – Director/Clinical Manager

Rachael has been qualified since 1994 and has a well rounded background in physiotherapy having worked in New Zealand and overseas, having worked with the British Army and various sports teams; and in the last decade specialising in Occupational Health and Vocational work. Rachael has completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine, a Certificate in Spinal Manipulation and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health. She is also a Pilates Instructor, is trained in acupuncture and dry needling and enjoys working with complex conditions.

Peter Boyce – Director/Financial Manager/IT

Pete’s focus is to keep Active Health at the forefront of delivering services and processes that utilize technology. Pete is responsible for company finances, administration, advertising/marketing and our IT maintenance and development.  Pete has a Diploma in Computer Science, a strong administration background and has managed several companies.

Lucy Finch – Team Leader & Senior Physiotherapist/Advanced Pilates Instructor

Lucy is an English trained physio with double degrees in Physiotherapy and Zoology. Lucy has been working at the Active Health since 2009 and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine. She is also trained in  McKenzie spinal treatment, Advanced Pilates and Dry Needling.  Lucy is our team Leader with proven abilities to work with patients over a wide range of issues. She is also a valuable member of our mentoring team for our staff physios.

Melissa Edwards – Senior Physiotherapist

Melissa is a New Zealand trained physiotherapist, graduating in 2010. She has experience in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries including sports injuries, spinal, work injuries and doing post-operative rehabilitation. Melissa has an excellent patient rapport and is able to communicate well with patients and third parties to work to achieve best results for the patient.  Melissa has skills in dry needling and is our “Pain Champion” having completed regular professional development in this area.

Rebecca Crawford – Senior Physiotherapist

Rebecca is one of our senior physiotherapists who has been working at Active Health since she graduated in 2013. She is an avid sports person and has worked with several rugby teams. She is currently studing for her Post-graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine and is skilled in treatment and exercise rehabilitation from sports and other musculoskeletal injuries.

Sally Johnston – Senior Physiotherapist

Sally joined Active Health in early 2019. Sally brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to Active Health, having worked in a diverse range of environments from hospital to private practice, and with a wide range of ages.  Sally has skills in aged care, falls prevention, education, relaxation classes, exercise therapy and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Lowell Quadros  – Staff Physiotherapist

Lowell joins us after moving from Dunedin in 2020. Lowell’s skills include orthopedic and sports physiotherapy, multidisciplinary healthcare, community based rehabilitation and utilizing a holistic approach to patient management.

Heather De Gouw – Staff Physiotherapist

Heather completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2019 at Otago University and joined the Active Health team in early 2021. Heather comes from a large family in Christchurch. 

Elizabeth  Ray – Staff Physiotherapist

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Joined Active Health in early 2021 after completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2020. Lizzy has moved from Christchurch to join us at Active Health Timaru. 

Alex Binney – Occupational Therapist

Alex joined our team in 2020, after completing her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Otago Polytechnic in 2019. Alex developed an interest in vocational rehabilitation early into her studies after having a practical fieldwork experience at the Tiwai aluminum smelter in invercargill. She is an empathetic person who likes to work collaboratively with clients to help them achieve the best outcomes when overcoming functional limitations. She enjoys creative hobbies such as painting, sculpting, and embroidery which provides her a background for thinking of creative solutions to problems.

Robyn Warburton – Senior Administration/Receptionist

Robyn is one of our two receptionists who works in the Church Street clinic.  Robyn leads our reception team as well as our administration tasks. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, cat and friends!

Casey Belworthy – Administration/Receptionist

Casey is our second receptionist who you will find on the front desk at our Timaru Clinic. Casey comes from a background in hospitality so loves meeting and greeting our customers. Outside of work Casey is passionate about American Jazz Dancing and has had lessons from a young age.
